Homework Help:Students who have difficulty completing their math homework sign up for one of our "homework help" packages. For example, a student in algebra might submit the following question to our site: Given 3x + 4 = 2x + 1, how do I go about solving for x? Our response to the question would be something like: When solving linear equations, the idea is to get the variable by itself. Subtract 2x from both sides to get that 3x - 2x + 4 = 2x - 2x + 1. Simplifying, we see that x + 4 = 1. Subtract 4 from both sides to get that x + 4 - 4 = 1 - 4. Simplifying, we see that x = -3. So x = -3 is a solution to the linear equation 3x + 4 = 2x + 1. This means that if we subtitute the value -3 in for x into the equation 3x + 4 = 2x + 1, we will have that 3x + 4 equals 2x + 1. To check this, we verify that 3(-3) + 4 = -9 + 4 = -5 and 2(-3) + 1 = -6 + 1 = -5. Since both sides equal -5, we have equality and have verified that x = -3 is indeed a solution to the linear equation 3x + 4 = 2x + 1. How it works:After a student successfully logs in, they can submit questions via our question form and a college math instructor will promptly respond to the question. What makes our online service unique is that a student will get a detailed explanation to their question(s) the same day the question is submitted, as long as it is submitted before 9pm (Pacific U.S. time). Our question form allows students to upload files such as gif, jpg, pdf, doc, lotus, tex, txt, dvi, etc. This allows students to easily submit math questions to us. Our solutions are neatly typed using a math program, and sent as an adobe acrobat file (.pdf). Just about any computer that isn't more than ten years old will support this file. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding this service. Why would I want this service?A lot of students just need an organized and detailed solution to a problem rather than getting special help from an instructor or tutor. We are here to provide those solutions at a fraction of the cost of hiring an actual tutor. Choosing the right package:We offer packages for elementary, intermediate, and advanced mathematics. A student taking elementary school mathematics (grades 1-6) is someone who would choose an elementary package. Someone who seeks instruction in pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, or trigonometry is someone who would choose an Intermediate package. Someone who is taking pre-calculus, calculus, or linear algebra is someone who would choose an advanced package. If you are unsure of which package you need, simply contact us for guidance. Each of our packages come in a multiple of 30 questions. If you are taking an algebra course and need help on a few questions here and there, you should probably sign up for our Intermediate (30 questions) package. If you are taking a calculus course and need a lot of help, you should sign up for our Advanced (120 questions) package. You will have a full year from the day you sign up to use all of your questions. After you use up all of your questions, or a year has passed from the date of purchase, you must purchase another package to continue service. We strongly believe in "learning by doing", which is why we encourage students to take advantage of our homework help packages. Pricing
